How to set ram voltage and settings?

O.k basically have been getting bsod, ran memtest and have to conclusion that I either have faulty ram or am stupid enough to not know how to set the right ram settings.

So that is my ram, also using an i7 950 with p6x5d-e
Can anyone teach me how to set the correct settings without completely screwing up and frying my motherboard.
Because to be frank I only have a half clue what each setting does and I am not going to overclock till I get a non stock heatsink.

In the BIOS set the DRAM voltage to 1.65V (or 1.66 if you don't have that option)
The current speed and timings appear correct

It seems I have found the suspected faulty ram, it was failing at like 8%. Took it out and doing a full ram test with 4gb so far at 50% no problems.
If the settings were faulty, would mem test fail or carry on fine?
If it is faulty will rma it, does anyone know if overclockers will just Send a new one back, or wait for Corsair to replace it?
Edit: Got an error at 97% seems strange, might be two sticks gone.
