Right, my rig is in the sig before we begin.

What I want to do is get the monitor showing the internet, whilst gaming on the 40 inch Samsung Smart TV.

I've tried via AMD control centre, but no luck.

do you get anything on both displays ?
you may need to have tv set as primary monitor
use std windows display properties (win7. right click desk top , screen resolution)

I get the same thing on both, what I want is a game on the TV and the internet for ex on the other.

I can only get the desktop on both, or either, I can't get something different on both.

I right clicked desktop etc as you advised, but still hit the same problem

Right, Now I get the desktop + icons on the TV, but just the background and no icons on the monitor.

Current settings:

2-1 with 1 being samsung tv

SAMSUNG

1080p

landscape

extend these displays

'this is currently your main display'

I did get what I wanted with this monitor and a 10 year old TV not so long ago.

If you use Steam Big Picture mode, you can select it to use the TV to output the games.

Other-times, games might give you the option of which screen to use (Wolfenstein: The Order for instance)

And other times you'll have to manually change using the Windows display settings, which one is your primary display.

Make sure the desktop is set to 'Extend' and you should then be able to open your internet browser on the desktop monitor (if it opens on the TV, just drag it across) and play games on the TV.

You won't really be able to interact with the internet whilst the game is on, unless you alt-tab though. I guess it would be handy for guides but I don't really ever use though.
