How to set up a wireless media server ?

Hi,

I recently bought a Sony Bravia Smart TV and was wondering if theres a way to wirelessly access my computers media files through it ?

I have my Sony smartphone set up this way but I'm not sure how to get the TV to pick up the PC.

I'm assuming the PC needs to be set up as a wireless server ?

I remember on initial set-up of Windows 7 I unchecked all the shared media as I had no use for a network.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just to clarify, I want to be able to access my computers files, wirelessly through my smart TV without having to play the files on my PC at the same time if thats possible ?

Although I do realise my PC would need to be switched on.
