Hi Guys,

I am having really trouble setting my IP35 Pro for Raid-0 format.

Current set-up is as follows:

1 x 36 gb Raptor for OS
2 x 75 gb Raptors (want these in raid)
2 x 250 gb Raptors (want these in raid)
1 x 250 Samsung (backup Drive)

Can someone please explain how to do this with reference to the motherboard above and also whether you need to do it before the os is installed - as I can't do it atm

Ok have kind of moved forward a little bit, I have unplugged all the drives apart from the two 250gb drives and it tells me in order to enter the raid bios I need to press <CTRL-I> what is that combination?

Also it seems once I leave the bios my keyboard does not work, so I can not type anything after that?

Blah, first system build and maybe my last :(

Thanks for the reply mate, have done that and managed to raid the drives, when I get to installing the OS system I try and select the 36gb and it will not let me install windows onto it?

Any ideas?

Hi os is vista 64-bit.

Error message says windows could not find a suitable disk or something to that effect - although it shows all my disk drives?

Have you loaded the drivers for the RAID controller at the partitioning/install location screen of the Vista setup?

Thanks for the quick replies, do I need to install it on all the drives?

As i have currently only installed it on the two drives I have got in raid-0 set-up. Also I attempted to load windows onto one of the raided drives but it said the same thing?

Damn I lost :o

You don't install the RAID drivers onto the drives per se. When you get to the screen in the Vista install where you select the drive to install to there's an option to load extra storage drivers (I forget the exact wording). You need to go through that process and load the drivers from the motherboard CD. The built in drivers within Vista are for an older version of the Intel Southbridge to the one on your board so they're probably working out that there are drives connected but not quite allowing the install to continue. If you load the correct drivers from the CD all should be well.
