I have an old desktop PC which I am about to start temporarily using for work purposes. It has an MSi GTX 1060 6Gb graphics card in it. I have a Philips 27" monitor for the main screen and I'd like to add an Acer 24" monitor as a second display so I can have one set of documents open on the Acer to display and edit and my main screen as the Philips 27".

The Philips monitor is currently connected to the 1060's HDMI port, what do I need to do to connect the 24" Acer monitor to the card? What cables would be required for that? The Acer has HDMI, DVI and VGA connections on the back of it.

Many thanks!!

Depends what connections the 1060 has ;)

If the 1060 has a DVI port, then just use a DVI cable. If not then passive display port to dvi adapter and then DVI cable is normally the cheapest option

Hi, thanks. It looks like one single HDMI port on the rear of the 1060 and a few display ports. There is also a DVI port there too. So just stick a DVI cable into the back of the 1060 and then into the Acer monitor? Would I then need to configure anything within Windows or the Nvidia Control Panel? Ta!!
