Is it possible to have 3 displays running off 1 graphics card (8800gtx) with only two DVI outputs. Is there a way you can purchse something that splits one of them into 2 outputs or do i need to go SLI or purchase some form of hardware?

Thanks in advance :)

The Matrox Triplehead2go will do what you're asking, the bonus being it will also work in games. There's even a digital version coming out soon.

SLI doesn't allow multi-monitors in games, you're as well off with a 8800GTX and a 7300LE outside of gaming.

two options. the matrox triple head adaptor which will split 1 display output in to 2 or 3, but you are limited to a max display height of 1024, meaning you are stuck with 17/19" lcd's, and its not cheap at ~£170

option 2: get another card. for that price you can get an 8800gts to run alongside the gtx *not in sli*. depending on what you want the 3rd display to do, you could get a much cheaper card instead.

they are the only ways you'll get a 3rd display working. SLi wont work, its limited in the number of display outputs you can use. still 1 isnt it? or is it two now....somebody will be along to confirm that

just go onto ebay for a cheap 6800GT or something for whatever there going for now, £50ish? use that for desktop and desktop apps, then hook up ** other more decent monitors to the gtx and use them for gaming
