Hi,

I have a home network with 4 pc's on (2 of which are mine). All of them run windows 7 or 8. I am wanting to share some folders on PC1 only to PC2, so PC3 & PC4 cannot see or access it. How do I do this?

The PC I want to share the folders of is Windows 8.

Set the share and turn on password protected sharing. On both pc's setup user accounts that match so pc1 has accounts names "me" and "notme" and pc2 has the same users. Job done!

Or set up static IP's (or reservations on the DHCP table of your router), and block (or allow) access using Windows Firewall.

user credentials for a home network behind a NAT router far easier than setting static IP's and faffing with rules!

Thanks for the help, didn't occur to me to use Paradigm's method. In the end I did it another method. If you link your account on PC1 and PC2 to your Microsoft live account you can then just share a folder to just usernames connected to that account. Works like a charm and I didn't need to add any usernames etc.
