Hi,

Just installed a new HIS AGP 3850 card, but seem to be suffering jerky DVD replay with VLC and Windows Media player?

Codec issue?

Using an AMD Sempron 3300 single core CPU (same as the Athlon XP 3200+ with 400mhz FSB and 512K at 2.2G, plus 2G of XMS 3200 currently running at 2/2/2/6 and 233.3mhz with 2.5v.

Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3.

Any tips on getting smooth DVD replay?

Steve

Ok found that out, tried DMA if applicable but no change?

Rubbish DVD drive? I am sure I have read of people using old processors for DVD replay?

Windows Media player is smoother than VLC but seems more washed out and greyer with blurred motion? on faces and such, which is not an issue with VLC which is far crisper and more natural with good contrast but very jerky playback?

Hi,

With downloaded HD 720 content I get getting good results, with 1080 downloads its jerky.

DVD after playing with settings is slightly better but still some artefacts, and at the moment I am playing with S-Video out but not getting a true widescreen display with the DVD drive replay, but its fine with most of the HD content downloads?

I do not have any DVD's on my Hard Drive so I am only playing them via the Lite-On IDE DVD drive.

Hi,

Still not getting smooth DVD replay, nor able to find any old graphics drivers, old cards were an ATI Radeon 8500LE and nVidea GeForce FX 5200.

My old Mac G4 is giving me better DVD replay!
