Invest in a life insurance plan. You don't want to leave your loved ones with large expenses when you pop your clogs.
That's grim! I'm 21 on Wednesday!
At all the drugs comments,.. hmm.. fun but.. I don't think absolutely ruining myself for a few days is a great idea. I like the ideas of a guitar, and the PS3, and the Android tablet.
On the Android tablet idea... how good is the Nexus Desire Z? Wooosh, I really would save and buy that next month if it wasn't so expensive. It's like £400+ without contract ( i'm locked into orange atm with my HTC Hero which breaks every other day - 4 replacements! ). I don't think I want to spend like £400+ on a phone though.
£250 on a tablet,.. sounds pretty good! I love android stuff aswel, learning Java at Uni which means I can make apps for it. I'm currently working on a few projects.
@ sldsmkd "With the benefit of hindsight i'd have been more mindful of how compound interest worked at the age of 21, and saved hard right from the get go.
Still it's important to have fun, get something that will last you. Graphics cards, games and such are really transient things.
You could get a decent acoustic guitar for £200. That would be my recommendation. ". I like these suggestions. I maybe should save it, but.. I have some savings and hell,.. I'm going to leave uni in debt, almost everyone does, I don't think that saving a little will make a huge difference, I want to enjoy it now / over the next few years. My reasoning is that hopefully, if the market for computer scientists stays the same I should be able to land an ok job when I leave. Who knows though, maybe not.
@ the buy a gun comment. I always wanted to learn archery, I would like to buy a bow and arrow, as in,.. a proper one.. but, I guess we have laws that are going to ruin that for me? Does anyone know?
To be honest, I don't think in the small garden we have here a full sized bow and arrow is a particularly good idea.. but maybe archery lessons.
