How to spot used cards from a miner

Better to run 24/7 at a constant rate than to heat cycle on a daily basis IMHO.

I wouldn't trust them gamers myself all they do is try to OC the death out of their GPUs to gain that extra 10th of an FPS and sod the temp limit just add more voltage!

Is this like the K series CPU's that are for sale that of course have never been overclocked and the CPU's that people claim they only did a mild overclock but didnt need to push it further which is generally code for I clocked the **** out of this and its a dud.

With CPU/GPU's unless your the original owner you have no real idea what is was used for and how it was treated but be carefull some GPU's are mining edition's models which have a reduced warrenty.

Recent eBay seller: "EVGA GTX 1070 SC, 1 year old in great condition, never been overclocked. Warranty not transferrable. No returns accepted" (shows picture of a box of 6 cards)
Me: "Um, if it's a year old, EVGA will transfer warranty. Unless you've mined them to death. Given you have 6 cards for sale, what were your mining settings, temps, loads, etc?"
Recent eBay seller: "Sorry, I made a mistake in the listing, but yes they were mined with..." (gives full details about mining setup)

Dishonest? no. Evasive? Yes. But he was perfectly helpful when called out and it also sounds like he didn't push the cards very hard. I'm not paying £270 for a second-hand mining 1070 though. But 6 other people did.
