how to start starcraft ??

I have a retail box downloaded and a blizzard account but still cant play . when i start the game all i get is a log in screen which acsepts nothing ?????
 
If I remember the login box you're offered looks like it wants you to put in the name you want to play as. In actual fact this is where your battle net account name goes. So put that in there and you get to make up your game name later.

I don't have the game to hand but I think its the email address from your battlenet account that goes in the login box.
 
Have you registered your game key to your blizzard account? If so then it should accept your email registered to blizzard and password to the blizzard account at the login screen.


If you still cant log in, then contact Blizzard.

In the meantime, you can use 'play as guest' to get in to the offline features :)

:( bad times. Would recommend a reinstall tbh. Any other info you can give?

There was a problem a couple times with the battle.net servers where the game would freeze when people started the game. Solution was to unplug/disable internet connection and then reinsert/reenable it once the game had started.
 
Login is your b net account which you should have all linked up on the web...ie link your sc 2 key to your account.

Run the repair tool before reinstalling.
What are you trying to run it on? The game make look simple graphically but still use a lot of computer power to play....
 
no wories gave up got it on a torrent that worked streamlesly.. and they wonder why sales are falling:eek:

Just want to add this game was paid for in full as a christmas prescent . it didnt work !! but the illegall one did ???? dont figer ??

If you're still having troubles do post on the blizzard forums. If there's a genuine problem in the game then best to let blizzard know about it :D
 
So your not going to be able to play mp then?
You dl the torrent before even reinstalling? Sounds like something a bit dodgy is going on tbh....not exactly normal behaviour
 
All working now . I removed all coppies of my hd and did a clean install from dvd and it loged in as it should . My firewall was blocking the login .


I blame the alcohol yeterday:D
