Hello,

To cut it short, Let me just say i have WinXP & Windows 7 (dual boot) and use an EMU 0404 (DSP) sound card for Cubase/musc poduction on WinXP.

On Windows7, I wish to use my Soundblaster Platinum (to use for gaming/media etc), but need to totally disable my EMU 0404 from Windows 7. I have them both installed, and the SB platinum works ATM (windows 7 latest drivers) but when i restart the PC in windows 7 mode, it tries to detect/install my Emu sound card. Is there anyway to let my PC not search for "Hardware"?

Get blue screens some times when both cards are active

TIA

~Ant

Not sure if there is a way to stop Windows7 from auto-detecting hardware but you could try just disabling it within device manager (find it on the list, right click it and see if there is menu item for disable)

thanks, i did that and works in Win7 fine, will now try WINXP have to do it on that os as well SB Platinum is one awesome card (had it 1.5 years now but been unable to use it till now, as vista/XP wouldn't "have it"

Thanks
