Hi, i have bought a new mobo, i set it all up and it keeps shorting, the pc is still running but everything on the back panel dont work, now i have removed the i/o back plate and it all seems to be working. Is there anything i can do to stop it from shorting? or can i just leave the panel off? T.I.A

Back panel i/o is there to prevent dust settling in, but if the i/o shield is causing problems just leave it off. Just monitor how fast the dust settles.

yeah i think i will just keep it off and use the air compressor every week or so to get rid of the dust. :)

If it's shorting, the I/O shield is either installed incorrectly, or you have a bigger problem with an incorrectly installed I/O panel. I personally would return the motherboard if it was still under warranty. It should not be shorting if the I/O shield is installed properly.

i think i have sorted now, it just pushed the metal flaps so its touching properly and up to now its not shorted :) my motherboard is a GIGABYTE F2A78M-D3H
