How to stop laptop going into standby

Hi
Anyone know how to stop a laptop going into standby when i put the screen down? (it is an acer laptop)

It is ****ing me off, every time i close it and go to open it again, i have to log back on...

Check in power options in control panel. I think theres a facility to prevent standby in there. Can't say for certain without my laptop in front of me though.

Go to power options in windows (can be found in control panel), and under the advance tab, choose "Do nothing" from the drop down list under the "When I close the lid".

Rather than start a new thread, here is another laptop Q

On the side i had one of those PCIMCA (or whatever) slots. I pushed the button in so the fake card came out, but now i can't get that button to stick back in...
How do you do it!

When you push the button back in it should click and stay inside.
