How to stop music pausing?

Getting quite annoyed that my iPad pauses my music playing if I open another app, and YouTube pauses if I even go on another tab!!

I take it I'm missing something? How do I stop this, as it's making it a pretty one use thing.

(it's the 3rd gen one)

I've just tested on my iP4 and apps that don't have any audio to them allow the music to keep playing.

Any apps such as games that have music, stop it.

No idea how to get round that I'm afraid

It's bloody annoying and renders the thing sort of useless. How can you have an machine that dosen't let youtube play in another tab?

Why do you need a YouTube video playing if you are using another tab anyway? You are no longer watching it; is it purely because you want to listen to music through YouTube or something?

Watch youtube in the app? Exit app, music stops, double tap home button, swipe left, press the play button.
