i think i've worked out what it is. when you see players like ronaldo, kaka, torres, van persie, joe cole (i'm feeling inclusive) ronaldinho etc go at a player they are looking to beat their man and score or set up a goal all the time. sure there are tricks and sometimes one too many fancy stepovers or whatever but that's part of the craft, the skill, the vision that makes those players a joy to watch. it's all done essentially in the right spirit. this kerlon thing it's not. it's 'i'll bounce the ball on my head and run a bit until someone fouls me.' it's drawing a foul every time, i've never seen a goal or assist in open play come directly from it. and it's almost like the player and his agent are using it as a marketing tool now. i mean he did it once fine it was original i'll give him that but it didn't strike me as having that sheer artistry and class i saw when ronaldo fell over on saturday and still managed to backheel the ball to a teammate or van persie with his freekick. it's almost negative football.
yada yada.
by the way i retract this statement in advance if united sign him at any point in the future if that happens then the boys a genius who came up with things no one had ever thought of before. so don't go dragging this up next year or anything.
