How to stop W10 from starting updates during gaming?

Just fired up Diablo 3 and a few minutes in I'm lagging out like crazy. Turns out W10 has decided to just go ahead and download what seems to be a massive update, thus making it impossible to play said game as it's currently sat there using all of my available bandwidth.

Is anybody else seriously ****** off with this and, more importantly, does anyone know how to stop this POS from doing this in the future?

I don't mind the updates, it's the fact that it always starts to automatically download them when I'm using the system that's ******* me off. Not to mention the fact that it's sucking all the bandwidth so I can't even go and watch stuff on TV catchup services either.

Surely Microsoft should have had it run a check first to see if something else was intensively using the CPU or internet before initiating these downloads.

I have active hours set, but it just ignores that and starts updates whenever it wants. Doesn't help matters being stuck on ADSL either.

I do have the Windows Updates in Services set as disabled but, much like the active hours, Windows just ignores it and starts updates whenever.

And now, as if to extract the urine even more, the damn thing looks to be stuck at 98% download. It hasn't moved in 20 mins.
