How to swap downlight fire cases?

Can I just pull the cases out from the ceiling, unscrew the wires from the back of the cases and swap them over?

What do you mean 'downlight fire cases' = fire rated downlights?

You want to change some old downlights for new ones?

I assume he means the fire cases. As per building refs downlights should be covered to prevent the spread of fire.

doesnt make too much sense to me why would you want to swap a firehood or downlight cover? and why would you need to disconnect or reconnect wiring to do this unless is passed through the hood which its normally doesnt... why i thought op meant downlights

As you say, not sure why there'd be any need to change.
