I have an awesome Ryzen desktop and an i7 13" laptop, which is... portable (I really don't like laptops). I want to use my desktop most of the time but switch to the laptop when I need to be visit the office. I'm using Windows 10 Pro and I'm wondering what the best approach is.
I've thought of the following but I don't know whether they'll work.
1. Remote desktop - requires a reliable Internet connection and is potentially less secure. May be problematic if the remote machine crashes.
2. Move a Hyper-V virtual machine between machines. Will this work reliably?
3. Boot off external storage. Will this work? Will BitLocker work with this? Will it be reliable? This would also lose the benefit of my Gen 4 SSD.
I don't mind buying new hardware if it'll be better. Any ideas what's best or is it just a bad idea?
