How to tell a non-interference engine@

It's probably a combination of pub talk and folklore. But I've assumed 8 valve engines are more likely to be non interference then 16 valve.

Does anyone know off the top of their head if the 2 litra 16v engine in my Chysler Neon is Non Interference.
 
I believe the 1.6 v-tech engine is not an interferance engine unless its in v-tech which then its very very much an interferance engine.
