My upload speed syncs at 899kbps, is this a simple enough way to tell if i'm on a LLU service or not? Didn't think basic ADSL would sync that high for upload. Thanks.

Phone up your provider and ask if its an LLU product?

LLU basically means Local Loop Unbundled and is when your provider hosts their own kit in the BT exchange rather than using BT's equipment.

It also uses ADSL2+ technology.

Yours "might" be an LLU service, or it might not be LLU and could just be a ADSL2+ 21CN connection (giving you up to 24mb speeds).

Who is your provider?

Check your exchange can get TalkTalk LLU by going to www.samknows.com, and performing an availability search.

Also, another give away for a service that isn't LLU is the upload speed of 448kbs

It's possible for the upload speed to sync at 832Kb/s if one is on a "business" package.

True indeed. However LLU ADSL2 services usually offer 1.3Mbit up on annex A. Or sometimes 2.5Mbit on Annex M packages. I don't think BTs is more than 800k though. I could be wrong though.
