Hi all,

G/fs mum has just purchased an old P3 800mhz system with monitor etc for £80, she only wants it for web broswing, email etc and maybe some basic games.

Ive gone through and made notes on everything (rage128 GFX card, ooo the power) as im going to format 98 and stick XP on there for her.

Ive also got an old Geforce gfx card, cost me £300 5 years ago so should be an improvement. I however cant figure out what the motherboard is!

If im formatting i will need drivers and i need to know what memory it takes so i can put some old stuff in that im no longer using.

Anyone any suggestions on how to find make and model of mobo?

CPU - Z should give you a good idea
check the graphics card is compatable as iirc old AGP and newer AGP cards use different voltages, plugging the lower voltage card into a higher voltage socket and its gonna blow (or just not work)
