How to tell which Windows 10 I'm running?

I have 2 retail versions of Windows, one is W8 and the other is W8.1. I've upgraded both of them to W10 in the past.

One of the versions is in current use with my 6700k/GeneVIII system, running W10.
The other was tied to a system that I no longer have.

I'm just about to get a second system up and running again, this time a 5930k/Fatal1ty X99 combo. I have both product keys in front of me here, but I don't know which one to input for the new system.

How can I tell which one I am using right now? I've Google'd "how to find my product key" but all the links seem to advise me to install software, which I'm not sure if I can trust?

It might flag up AV, but it's safe.

Strange, the key it shows matches neither of the two product keys. :confused:

As far as I know it will change the 8.1/8 key into a 10 key. So it won't show your original key.

Best way is to just try one of them.

Makes sense.

I will do, just hoping I don't end up disabling the current setup!
