How to test VM performance.

Hello. I have just built a new machine for running about four VMs. I will probably install VMware Server for Windows, but I want to try out Parallels Server for Windows (Beta) first.

How can I test the performance of each VM server? Can you suggest some tests I can run on each platform please?

It all depends on what their workload is going to be to be honest. Work out disk IO pattern etc and then possibly look at doing some IO Meter testing.

Very little of our VM infrastructure is CPU bound anymore, mainly RAM / disk
