During c: drive cleanup i could get back 1 gig odd if i compressed old files. Dozy me did this as my c drive is a 10gb partition and had about 800mb left. Anyhow comps been a bit slow since then and i think it could be this thats the cause. So any ideas how to reverse what drive cleanup did with the compress old files?

explorer, tools, folder options, -show hidden and system files

go to c:\windows\

you can delete the hidden folders that begin with $ (these are windows update uninstallers)

-i think these are the files it compresses

use ccleaner slim (from here http://ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx ) to clean up temp files -look in the options for applications first tho, by default it removes all cookies + history

disable system restore (takes up a few gb)

possibly install JDiskreport it shows you where your biggest files are, very good tool
