Hi,

After dragging my heels and being afaid to commit myself to a considerable spend on upgrading my system I am delighted to say that I am going to be placing an order this evening (or tomorrow morning).

What I wanted to understand was how should I put everything together?

This is my basket:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £179.99
1 x Plextor M5S 128GB Solid State Drive - (PX-128M5S) £82.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £79.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00403) £71.99
1 x TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED316GM1600HC11DC01) £59.99
1 x Noctua Mounting Kit NM-I3 - Socket 775/1156/1366 £5.99
1 x OcUK Professional 2.5" to 3.5" SSD Adaptor Plate - Black £4.99
1 x Arctic Silver Alumina Thermal Paste (1.75g) £3.98
Total : £501.31 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Should I just treat this as a new build and just take all the old stuff out and start over or should I be doing it differently?

I'll likely be keeping the three 500gig HD's I currently have for the meantime (though I do have a 1TB HD that is 150miles away, so it will have to wait). Do I just install the SSD and put the new system on it and the format the current OS off the 500gig HD?

Regards

LEe
