How to view really old threads?

So... After reading some great threads on here recently, i.e. first internet connections and first and best graphics cards etc

My nostalgic side has piped up and i would love to read some threads from circa early 00's, even older if available, as far back as when these forums first started

Although some threads from 2002/2003 pop up using the search function, is there any other way to access these threads?

Ive had a browse of the archive section but was dissapointed :(

They must be somewhere as search returns them, but where!
 
Yeah up until about 2007 or later the forum was pruned on a regular basis with the best threads archived in the archive section.

To view the earliest threads go into a section and go to the bottom, then in the display options choose the last drop down menu (from the) and select beginning. Then just click "last" on the page options.
 
Have tried both suggestions, they have indeed worked thanks, but for example the graphics card sub forum only goes back to 2006 :(

May be that the forum has had a cleanout :(
 
Is it still being pruned?

My history only contains 500 posts. This may be due to some sort of forum configuration setting to reduce load.

That's the last date it was pruned then (Feb 2006 if it's the same as GD). The only posts prior to that will be in the archive thread.

Correct. And the archives are pretty bare :(

Its a shame, but these are free forums so cant complain :)
