how to watch this file downloaded using utorrent

downloaded a file using utorrent (first time i have used the program) and i have no clue how i get to watch it. The file is apparently a XVID-FQM File.

Do i convert it or something or have i downloaded something ishouldn't have?

If i hae done something wrong cani get a quick explantion how to use utorrent as its very different to limewire and im completely lost how it works.

Try installing FFDShow then see if it plays.

Try the xvid codec (I like Koepi's build: koepi.org)

thanks guys it wiorks now. I already had VLC so tried opening it with that and it worked.

The reason i was lost was because when i right click the file there is no open with, just open, which does some other list thing and i was worried the file format might be a virus or something.

Usually when its like that it then askes you to look via the web for a program or look for a program on your HDD.
VLC is a great app and plays more or less everything I throw at it
