How to /what to use to clean exhaust tip?

Saw this thread and popped to B&Q earlier for some wire wool and Autosol.
Pictures aren't the best but you get the idea. Half an hour got me from this:
to this:
Really impressed with Autosol. Didn't clean the tips first, just slapped it on with some blue roll, rubbed it in, then buffed off. Only had to use the wire wool around the very tip to get rid of the worst of the carbon.

Now, the next task: the backbox...
