.......and have plenty spare cash to replace steering head bearings and fork seals every month or so. :p

Pop the odd one now and again on mine and it pretty much does it on its own under hard acceleration in the first three gears, as I already mentioned before in the other recent thread here. :D

:D ...yeah the old head bearings take a lot of abuse especially if you land them hard. (which I do a lot when getting them wrong :)

tbh, straight power wheelies are pretty safe, and the faster you do em the more stable the bike

hah, I was just searching Youtube about 5mins ago for "How to wheelie".

I was trying my best to just do some simple roll-on wheelies yesterday for the first time at an industrial estate, got maybe less than an inch and what would feel like huge wobbles from the front.

Going to keep practicing though and read up on the techniques more!

the faster you go the less wobbly :) Give it some BEANS lad :D

haha I'll editing a video of some bikers @ Brunters couple of months ago doing lots of wheelies!

I'll post up when I'm finished :)

i love the aprilia for power wheelies.... comes up nice in first on the throttle, then hook second on it's way up and it makes it much more controllable.

only problem with wheelying twins is the engine braking.... shut off slightly and it can slam down, you really have to catch it right and then let it come down on the power to be smooth. :D

but i love wheelies... :D

HeH.. I want a video on how to wheelie a two stroke MX bike..

My 125cc KX is very nasty sometimes, sometimes it will try and throw you off the back in a instant..

Wheelies on 4 strokes are great though, the trike at home is pretty awesome for doing them on, lots of predictable torque :D

I can't imagine the balls needed to try to pull your first wheelie! The fear of pain/stacking it would be too great for me (if I actually had a bike)!

Im getting there slowly, power wheelies on the 750 with my +45 tooth sprocket is easy 7k RPM and just crack the throttle and she comes up, just need the balls to ride it out lol.

it's quite a feat and no matter what anyone says, you never feel in control for your first couple!

Power wheelies are easy.
First gear, get into the power band, quickly pull to full throttle.
Can do it in second too but usually requires a pull on the bars.

I dont really raise it high, no more than a foot.

Yeah, I've found that too on my Mille, especially with 16/44 gearing. :p

Still freaks me out a few times and takes me by surprise on a few exits from corners when I'm gunning it. :D

Only time i did lots of wheelies was on my TDR250 years ago.
The firestorm i had last year would wheelie off the throttle in first nice and easily, and if you got a good start from the lights you would always end up with the front end about a foot off the floor.

I only ever do small power on wheelies - i.e. the front only comes up a foot or two. I'm not really bothered about them, but would love to do them more if I knew how to do them properly - 2nd gear clutch launched ones are trickier. Apparently it's hard to over cook it, but it's still the sort of thing you just know will hurt (the wallet mainly) if it goes wrong!

Same here, that bike was insane, well, was great till it blew up after just 2000 miles :(

I'd love to see a modern version... though guess supermoto's kinda replace it now.

My first wheelie was across the test centre whilst doing my CBT. The instructor dude was less than impressed.

I crapped myself tbh!
