How to wipe my GS2

I searched for the Samsung Galaxy S2 thread but couldnt find it. (looked twice)

I want to wipe my GS2. My dad wants it but I have been using it to send saucy messages to err people and it has naughty images which I have received.

I have used the factory data reset option from the phone menu, which seemed to wipe everything. including images.

Then to make doubly sure I did the wipe data / factory reset thing from the cmd line:

This took longer. However after doing this, I noticed all the images are back...

Which makes me think the sms might not be wiped either, despite it being blank.

How do I wipe the handset so prepare it to give to someone else?

In your settings under back and reset check the automatic restore is not ticked

Factory reset doesn't wipe the SD card as well, you'll need to do that manually.

Format only wipes the data from OS/apps partition IIRC.

To wipe the rest open it up via windows explorer CTRL A and delete.

This will still leave the device usable after delete?

Yes, wipe all the data first via explorer and then do the factory reset. It will bring back the relevant Android folders after reset, but wipe all your personal stuff.
