How to wire 3.5mm stereo socket?

Can someone tell me which of the two small connectors is left and right. One appears to be copper with a square end and the other is rounded and maybe plated? It is going to be part of an Aux cable for my car.

I think, I've only wired the other end on a set of 'phones though
