To whomsoever it may concern,

I wish to terminate my employment at ***** with immediate effect, pending notice. Please consider this a formal notice.

Yours,

That's how I've handed in my notice to both full time jobs I've had except the one I'm in now.

I will say - don't burn any bridges :)

Don't leave in a huff and offer your good luck to the company going forward - a reference in time of need is always well recieved.

Here have a proper answer ;) This is what I put on mine a couple of months ago:

To whom it may concern

It is with regret that I hereby give notice of my resignation from my position as <insert job title> with <insert company name>. I have been offered an excellent employment opportunity and will be leaving the company after serving one month’s notice as per my contract. This will fall on Sunday 11 June 2006 and as such my final day in the office will be Friday 9 June 2006.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the company and my colleagues for their kindness and support and for making my time with <company name> both memorable and enjoyable. I wish them every success for the future.

Best regards

<full name>

Hope that helps!
