How to write signature in Microsoft Word

Hi guys

I have a noob question. Basically I have to fill an application form which was sent to me via email. Either I can download and print it off and then fill it by hand or I can download it and complete it in MS Word and then send it back via email.
Now my query is how can I sign the form in the signature section in Word? Do I just type my name again or do I have to do something else in the Word to sign the form?

Complete all of it in Word.

Then print it out and sign it then give it in, you can't really do your own signature on microsoft word unless you print it out sign it, scan it... blah blah.

Which is quite a lot of effort.

I suppose you could just type your name in under the signature part but I would just print it out.
 
I'd just type your name and date.

My employment contract was just a checkbox on a PDF followed by typing name and date...
