My brother has been without internet for a while due to some arguement with Orange and the free broadband thing they offered. Anyway he managed to get it turned back on when the contract run out last week and he could goto someone else.

So he plugs his 360 into the net and obviously it wants to update, so he lets it. No word of a lie just as it's installing the update he got a power cut! Haha I just had to laugh :D

After waiting all this time for his net and it borks his 360 on first day! not only that but he got this 360 free with the very same phone that he got the Orange broadband with and who he's had all this trouble with. So now he thinks he has to deal with them to get his 360 fixed hehe.... you couldn't make it up :D

How long should I wait until I tell him he can deal directly with MS and they'll replace it? and yes it does give the RROD btw.
 
Even after restarting the console? I got a RRoD after a powercut once, but it worked after restarting it.

If his console is less than 12 months old he can get a new replacement from said company, if it's not then get in touch with MS now.
 
Yes it's completely dead. He said it did boot to the blades screen first attempt but froze up almost immediately, now it won't do anything just gives RROD.

I think it's 11 months old because he had a 12 month contract on the mobile phone that has just run out. They gave him the 360 after he sent off his first airtime bill so about 6-7 weeks later after he first got the mobile altogether.

He doesn't know about the extended 3 year MS warranty and is now thinking this company will just screw him over like they did for months on his broadband. I think I'll leave him another hour before I tell him :D
