How useful is a removeable MB Tray?

Is a removeable MB Tray useful to have? I'm doing reserach for a new build and wondering if i should look for this in a case?

Hasn't made any diffrence to any of my builds.. Removable or not.

I’d go for a case with a removable MB tray because it can be easier to install some of the components prior to fitting the tray and is normally well worth having – other things being equal.

It wouldn’t be the deciding factor. I’d get a case without if I felt it suited my needs better in other respects - I just have.

to be honest, it makes the build easier...but the build would last about an hour or two out of the months and months it will remain attached inside the case unmoving. imo its a "ah thats cool" feature, but i woud never buy or not buy a case based on that fact

agreed with the above, its a useful thing to have, but not something that should sway you against getting a case or not.

i mean unless you change bits frequently, once the kit is in there, its in there. my coolermaster black widow has a removeable tray but once the scythe ninja is installed, the tray doesnt work. would i have passed up on the black widow because of this? nope.

Sometimes I'd kill for a removeable motherboard tray, mainly when having to reseat or seat a new heatsink in a machine that is quite big means the motherboard has to come out because the case sides are blocking fingers.

I find them extremly useful in the build stage if i am building a fully watercooled system, I can just assemble the whole lot on the tray, tubes, blocks everything then slot it in. jobs a good 'n.

they're only useful in the build stage though. for folk that may build or re build a PC once or twice a year it wouldn't be that useful.

Very useful - but it's not worth basing your choice of case on unless you find yourself in a position where there's literally nothing else to decide it.

The removable tray in my Eclipse is handy, but the case has enough room to work inside it without needing to remove the tray.

In smaller cases it would be a godsend.

Its handy till you instal heatsink and fan wihout checking size and find you have to take it off and reinstal when tray is back in case

You only need it on small case. If the interior is large enough to put arms in without obstruction, you don't need a tray. Ie full tower.

But for cube, matx and micro tower/midi tower I get one with a tray.

Not really an argument against buying a case with a MB tray. You still have to keep the brain in gear even if you use a tray.

I only take out my removeable motherboard tray for installing and removing the motherboard....
Everything else i install and remove with the tray in the case...(am using a sliverstone TJ-07 case)
