Get this at work, new poweline has gone up or mobile mast, remote for the car won't work unless your at the door.

i did see a mast being put up on top of a shop that is 2 mins walk from my house a few weeks ago adn we also have train tracks that are not far from my house

p.s i can get my remote to work if i put it right by the bonnet!!

Could have some amatuer radio people playing jokes, i heard they can do that!

They do it by blocking the signal, its funny apparently:confused:

You don't have any government base nearby? Last time I had this was approx 3 weeks ago when visiting a client, the car refused to open up with the remote control!!!!

I asked my client if his remote was working for the car, his reply "it's never done since 2001!!!"

What was that trick they did on Top Gear? Putting the key against your head or something like that to increase the range?? You'd look a bit of a plank doing it everyday but it might be worth a shot just to see if it works out of interest :D

strange a post like this has come up - the guy who bought my prelude has emailed me today asking if i have ever had any problems with the alarm (which i havnt) as BOTH key fobs are not working at the moment.... spooky.

I think it was to hold it next to your jaw because for some reason either the enamel or fillings affected the remote :).

Easy fix for persistant neighbours that ignore their alarms: centre punch, side window, open bonnet, cut battery wire and go home. When the alarm battery runs out you can have a nice quiet nights sleep.

Or if you don't want to smash their car up that spray expanding foam silences alarms quite well if you know where the siren is.

I was just thinking the exact same thing :D

My remote key fob is very short range when pressed normally, we're talking 5 metres. If i put it to my head however, i can do it from about 30
