How well do 980Ti's undervolt?

Just looking to see if I can shave some temps off the card by undervolting. I've not done it before. Is it easily doable with a 980Ti and if so what do I use to undervolt it? Afterburner?

Not sure, in MSI afterburner there doesn't seem to be a way to move the voltage slider below stock.

I think you would need to perform a BIOS mod which I've never tried.

Without bios tweaking I don't think it's possible. Here's what I do though if I'm feeling temperature conscious. Bear in mind this is for 980Ti SLI though...

In Afterburner I set the power limit to 88%, and set to prioritise temperature limit. I then set the core clock to +34. By doing this both my 980Ti's (Palit superjetstrem) boost to 1380 max, and fluctuate a bit between this and about 1316, but mostly stick at around 1367. The important bit is that limiting the power to 88% stops the volts sticking at 1.19. It will sometimes go down to and stay around 1.12, 1.14 or 1.17 and this really helps keep the temps down a bit. My cards can comfortably hold the mild overlclock and boost to 1367 on 1.14-1.17 volts.

You can play around with the power limit and mild overclock on the core as it's kind of a balancing act and depends a bit on what temps your card(s) will get to, but after loads of testing I found the sweetspot for my set up to be 87 or 88% on the power limit to maintain a decent boost clock whilst being able to run at lower volts than 1.19.

I custom cool both my Ti's with corsair h55's and Kraken G10 brackets AIO setup (and a custom low speed fan set up for low noise as possible) and using this method both cards stay around 65-68 degrees max in even the most punishing games (this is at 3440x1440, 100Hz by the way).
I find it a really nice balance, and for SLI it's very very rare/ unheard of to get full scaling on both cards anyway (ie 100% power use) so having them both peek at 88 power usage whilst being able to use lower volts and temps is a plus all round for me.

I think the warm summer temps are a factor in my thinking too. Cheers for that. I'll digest it more later when twins are in bed.
