I installed this kit onto my i5 3570k and when I over clocked to 4.5ghz at 1.268v (viA DVID AND LLC) one of my cores hit 80 degress pretty quicky ( 30 mins) on OCCT avx compatable linpack.

with this radiator I got as an upgrade

Is it just me but I thought id get a lot better performance for 180 pounds?

I spent a day and abit with a slave PSU rocking and rolling the case to get all the air out and I used Noctua thermal paste instead of the one that came with it.

All of my core temps are with 3 degress of each other so I don't think I got a bad seat

did you take the plastic cover sheet off the bottom of the waterblock?
have you got the fans on a controller or are they on max?
where is the radiator mounted?
have you connected the CPU block fittings the right way round? (the "out" from the pump to the "in" of the CPU block and so on)

yes I removed the plastic and treated the block with artic silver cleaner and thermal surface purifier the fans are on full and it is in the roof off my CM STORM STRYKER with fans on pull as this is the only orientation that the storm stryker will allow with that depth of radiator

how about the flow of the loop / fittings connected to the right ports?

basically yes, 80C is well off for a 4.5ghz ivy, so it indicates something is wrong rather than the parts just not being up to it

I've got the 360 version of this kit.

Put some fresh paste on the cpu and refit the block. Now take it off and see how much paste has made contact. The reason I say this is I don't think my block has a particularly flat surface as I had to use more paste than I'd normally like on mine.

as far as I know the fittings are fine I followed the manual out from the res out to the rad. from rad to in on the cpu block cpu block back to res
