now I have a c2d 4300, 4gb ocz ddr6400, 520w corsair, x1800xt

this runs on a dell 2005fpw at 1600x1058

my games all run fine (Race07, cod4, cs:s etc)

going to run one of these on my 37" lcd either via vga or hdmi to play race sims as ordering a raceseat next week

just cant decide which one to put 4850 in and what redundant card/cards to sell for best overall balance

and yes I know its not top notch but suits my needs :)

You will get more out of the C2D especially if you clock it high. The AMD falls down also in that it is not dual core unlike the c2d, which will benefit it in games these days. Sell the X1800XT or 7800GTX, the 7800GTX is a bit faster, but memory dependant the X1800XT might survive better on some games these days if it has 512mb memory :)

yeah soz forgot to put... 4300 is at 3ghz on a tuniq tower

x1800xt is 512mb, 7800's are 256mb

just wish i had the money to give both a boost but haven;t, always on 2nd/3rd gen tech lol

the x1800 runs crysis on medium and very playable, not really bothered about uber res (due to screen) or AA etc, its just about playing and enjoying the games, not the eye candy
