How well will Crysis run??

It hardly looks any different to what we have seen running on the x1900 in DX9, and thats what ive been saying, in fact if i never read the article i would have thought it was x1900, DX9 shots. :D

Can't believe ppl, are gona pay £600 for that PMSL, is that deffo DX10 shots. :D :D

Yes, but it will still run well on XP though if you have a high end card i bet. :)

Theres no way they would make it run at say 5fps on XP, but under Vista it will do 100+, its gota run fine on XP to as not everyone will get Vista when its released, and that would be an absolutely huge market they would miss out on, not good business sense at all.

Yes i know that, but it will run fine on XP as well on a DX9 card, can you really see Vista running DX9 games on the same DX9 card you have in XP, but at 50+ frames extra, i can't, if its running well for you in DX9 under XP why spend all that cash for Vista just for a few extra frames.

Well its up to you, if you want to waste all that cash on Vista and a DX10 card just for a few more frames, and on one game that hardly looks any diff on a DX10 card then go for it. :p

I can't see why a GX2 on XP wouldn't rip through it anyway. :p

Your sources are wrong :) It'll run in DX10 only on vista, but it'll run just fine in DX9 on XP.

As for buying DX10 hardware, isn't Crysis due before Vista? That's what I read in an interview with the devs. So you could also end up waiting extra months to play it so it can look and run 5% better when everyone else has already finished it, got bored of the multiplayer and moved on.

Also it's just another FPS with flashy graphics and a few gameplay gimmicks. Far Cry was a nice game and all, but it wasn't worthy of hardware upgrades on it's own.
 
Why are so many people so sure Vista with DX10 will only look 5% or a tiny bit better? Is that a guess or did one of the devs say that? I hardly know anything about Crysis my self.

As I recall Win64-bit edition and Fry Cry looked loads better then the standard windows 32-bit version. What if Vista is the same type/level of difference between DX10 and DX9?

Even if Crysis does look 30% better with DX10 I wouldn’t get Vista just due to that one game. But I would be surprised if it’s a not a large difference graphic wise between Dx9 and DX10.
 
Well DX10 shots are posted above, and if you have a look at the footage of it running on the x1900 in DX9, then you will hardly see a diff, if at all. :)
 
In my experience you need the best hardware available 6 months after the release of a game to run it well at max settings ;)

PC gaming, games built for tomorrow.
 
Im planing on have a DX10 card and vista as soon after release as I can, wouldnt say I was wasting my money (at least no more than usual when i pay £300 on a graphics card ), Im not upgrading any of my hardware till its released. Currently running a x1800xt and an opteron which will be a year old by then. At the end of the day I suppose it depends what system you are running at the moment.
