How wil my machine handle FC2 ???

8800GTX - standard clocks
E4500 @ 2.93Ghz
2 Gig PC6400 RAM
1400 * 900 res monitor

Anyone else playing Far Cry 2 on a similar system tell my how it should run?

Can always clock my GPU if needs be!!

It runs perfectly on my similar system at 1680x1050. No idea what settings I'm using, whatever is default I guess, but looks great and runs smoothly.

I've seen it running on lesser PCs at higher res well enough so I doubt you'll have any problems unless you go 'all crazy like' with the AA + ultra quality settings.

should be fine

my e6600 8800GT has no problems at 1680 x 1050

Runs crap ( 18-25 fps) @ ultra high with 2x aa and 1280x1024.
Runs playable (23-35 fps) @ very high ( some stuff left on ultra) 2x aa and 1280x1024.

Disable AA and fps shoot up too...

My mates seem to play it with a laptop gfx fine ( m8600GT ) so it should run perfectly on lower settings...

Without AA, you'll be able to run it at ultra after knocking the shadows back down to very high, though I'm not too sure if c2q > c2d makes much of a difference.

Yes, but basic AA > any other gfx option, I prefer low details and smooth edges than jaggies

Very similar to my spec, and i run it fine with everything on ultra except shadows on very high, and AA on x2 and DX10

Runs so much better than crysis. And i run on 1920x1080

I run at 1650x1080 everythin maxxed and 2xAA and it runs fine - prob in the 30s but smooth as anything and thats with my pants graphics card

Yea it'll be fine. I'm running my 8800GTX on 1920*1200, highest settings, no AA. Get frames in mid-40s.

My mate is running it on an AMD x2 4200, 1GB Ram and a 1950XTX card and the game runs fine on that - 1680x1050 at medium(ish) settings (havent seen all the details.

I may have to pick it up, as even though it has mixed reviews, so do a lot of games and wouldn't mind something else to play atm.

I have an E6600 at 3.00Ghz, 8800GTX at default clocks, 2GB DDR 6400. So similar to your system.

Play it at 1680*1050, all settings on Very High, with 4xAA. Runs perfectly fine, no slow down at all.
