how will this run bf2?

I can run BF2 at high settings, although I think I have Dynamic lights and shadows at medium, so you should have no problem!

Mine:-

Athlon64 3200+ 'Venice' @ 2.2GHz
ASUS A8N-SLi nForce4
6600GT 256MB PCI-e
2GB PC3200

Like mentioned above the 2GB is a sweetspot. With 1GB I had the stutters just after a map had loaded which disappeard after about a minute. With the 2GB it's as smooth as anything.

I've got a similar spec

AMD 64 3400+
2GB Ram
ATI X1800 XT 512MB

and runs fine with all settings maxed and on 1280 * 1024

I'm surprised the 6600GT is capable of high settings, I had one and found it struggled heavily on a lot of areas with everything turned up.

I used to run BF2 on the following specs with nearly max details (minus shadows and textures) in 1024x768 without any problems, BF2's engine isn't as bad as people make out. The spec was: -

AMD Athlon64 3400+
1024MB DDR333 Value RAM
Chaintech 6600GT 128MB AGP
Onboard sound.

Runs a lot better on my current setup, of course. :)

If I whack dynamic lights and dynamic shadows up to maximum then yes, I get the feeling that the card is struggling a bit with it giving intermitent stutters. However, with those two settings on medium it's just fine @ 1280x960 (CRT monitor).

That said, hopefully I'll be investing in a 7900GTX OC 512MB soon, so all settings will be set to maximum. :D
