In preperation for Mario Strikers and the floodgates being officially opened for the Wii Connect online gaming service, does anyone know how they are implementing this.

Has it been confirmed that the same rubbish code system as used on the DS for online play is applicable to the Wii?

itll still be using friend codes as far as im aware, but not individual friend codes for individual games. its the code for the system, not for the game unlike the DS version of wifi gaming

the only game doing code per game is pokemon cause it links with the DS

Thats good news.

I would hope that the address book is used for the online gaming.

If not, thats a very silly decision on Nintendos behalf.

Also, instead of BOTH parties having to enter the code, a simple message in your box when someone adds you saying "Do you want to add this person to your list.. Yes or no" would be a lot better than both parties having to enter a code.

Are there any plans to change the sucky system code method to something much more user friendly. I have to admit I have entered none because it's more effort than its worth right now.

Yeah, lets hope they don't **** it up. I have no problem with friend codes just so long as it is 1 code per person for all games. That is all they need to do and it would be very simple.
THe signs are not good though. Quotes from GameSpy employees suggest a friends list for each game.... however that may or may not mean different friends codes as well.
