How would any of you on here feel about a person I know, who thankfully I have little to do with, but is family member of my Brothers wife, who –

Is not employed, was fired from their last job.
Claims disability for not being able to walk without pain – yet walked 10 miles around the Lake District and bragged about it last year.
Has a new car on a government disability scheme that’s automatic, claims they cannot push a clutch pedal down without pain, yet drives their partners car that’s not automatic.
Is a student that gets government backed funding for study, yet used this year’s first term money to buy computers, a TV etc….
Doesn’t actually turn up to uni, despite only have to go a few times a week, and always brags about how they write their essays a few hours before due.
Is seriously overweight – claims not being able to walk correctly caused this, yet eats nothing but fatty food, and drinks lots of fuzzy drinks… Ok, this is a lifestyle choice… Not my concern…!! But still…
Constantly moans about everyone not believing that their circumstances caused being like they are, yet does little about it…

Me personally, I feel something is a little wrong here….. I fail to see how they can get away with claiming so much, do so little and expect to have sympathy.

Thoughts, as I’ve been keen to keep them to myself due to family and my Brother doesn’t take kindly to anyone belittling his wife’s family..

I've got a severe back injury that's recently forced me to leave work. Some day's I can barely move, others I can but not without severe pain. I'm allowed naff all help with finances because I was honest and said that I could still walk from time to time. Regardless of how much pain it causes me I was told that as I can walk more than 50 metres I get no help with anything.

Anyone who claims disability and yet does the things this bloke's doing needs shopping.

How would you feel if genuinley at some point in your life, you had these problems for real, yet they rejected your application and remembering this guy doing what he did, for something that wasn't even a cm close to being legit, it would p*** you off and you would kick yourself in for letting him get away with it.

I was really tempted top chop um in. As I believe it, there was a genuine issue a good few years ago, but since they somehow manage to con the tax payer into paying all these benefits, has seen fit to certainly make the most of it..

I don’t know the full circumstances; all I know is that from what I’ve seen, or heard then I see no genuine reason to hold the disability he has. Might have been valid a few years ago – I can’t comment on the past. Perfectly acceptable, but not now, not from what I’ve seen….

The cheeky bugger also carries a NHS supplied crutch in his car, and a parking badge. When I took them to a public car park once for some shopping, I point blankly refused to park in a disabled bay, and made him walk..... To which he didn’t claiming he’d not got his crutch as it was in his ‘automatic’ car, and needed it today – apparently it was a bad day..

Has good and bad days…!! Really…. It’ll be a truly bad day if the tax office does find out about all of this…..
