Hello all,

How would Crysis run on my machine?

Tis a Mac Pro - I have Windows XP installed.

Specs are

2 x 2.66ghz XEON Core duo 2's - so 4 cores in total
1GB of RAM (want to upgrade this at some point)
X1900XTX 512mb

How would it run? smooth? crap? obviously I'd like to run it on high settings, I presume I'd need more RAM?

Thanks guys.

same as every rig...crap! ;)

More RAM would be a great help but you didn't say what res you'll be running at?

IMpressive CPUs, it's a shame they won't help much when it comes to crysis :(

Ideally my monitors optimal - 1280 x 1024.

I take it it isn't really up to the challenge? only thing stopping me from buying the game really!

It will run fine on medium and it will still look good. My x1900 with 256mb was ok at medium @ 1400x900

well i would be tempted to get at least 2gb first. My machine is 2gb and even then there is a lot of hard disk activity and alt tabbing into windows is a nightmare

edit - although i run vista...xp may well be ok!

Thanks mate :)

Think I'll leave it till after xmas, hopefully I'll be getting 2 x Crucial 4gb kits :D

8gb of ram "should" so the trick :D

I'd say buy it and try it now.

I can play at the same res as you with the hardware in my sig and everything is on full but with no AA.

Its stays over 24-26 fps in most places and i get an average of 20fps in the crysis gpu test. And let me tell you, the motion blur on this game makes it seem highly playable at 20fps, moreso than a lot of games running over 30fps.

ive got a similar gcard to yourself 1950xtx and i played the game with both 1 and 2gb of ram and i must say that there is a world of difference tbh, the game is much smoother with 2gb

more ram 4tw!!

If you're going to get it anyway when you get more memory then you may aswell get it now as even if it doesn't run well then you haven't lost nothing, If anything I think you will be saying "damn, wish I'd got this before xmas so I can play over the holidays".

I have only ever completed Half Life 1 and a couple of the Delta force games before getting bored with a FPS but Crysis (allthough demanding and best viewed at full detail) is a fantastic game and I will have completed this within a week, its addictive and fun:cool::D.

It might run quite well anyway, On XP mine was using around 700mb and went upto 820 which is the highest I've seen it at, so 1gb may well be enough.

Should run fine at medium settings. (may even be able to run a few on high - however I found shadows really killed my X1900XT)

You will definately want another gig of ram though.

medium dont even thing you get it about getting it on high well depends what rez or how smooth you want to play if 7 fps kk for you LOL you can try on high

I have an Athlon 64 3800x2, 1GB RAM, 7600GT. I play at 1024x768 with a mixture of Medium & Low and have FPS of around 40-50. This is surprising as I thought the game would look at my PC, laugh and tell me to get lost. It looks similar to Farcry on Med/High. Another GB RAM and a better card would make me so happy. Get some more RAM and you should be ok to play it higher than mine
