How would my 7950 do with ...

It's not a UK based PC shop so I can't see the problem here, but if it is, mods feel free to delete.

3840x2160 (4k) resolution on my ICEQ 7950AMD. Is it a goer or not? I'm ready to press the 'buy' button here but thought I would ask first. Does anyone perhaps know if this will downscale to 1440p resolution?

It depends what sort of frame rate you're happy with, the games you play and the graphics settings you want to use. Even a single GPU that is much more powerful (GTX 780, Radeon 290) would struggle at 4K in most scenarios.

My personal vote goes for no, and I'l say that I agree - it does depend on what sort of settings/frame rate etc your content with - I myself enjoyed running a 7950 (O.C.) on a 2560x1440 display but it wasnt enjoy for me - so threw in a second card (greedy much lol), and in all honesty I can see high temps and low frames if you are gaming on a single gpu - dont mean to be a downer but just my 2 cents
