How would my psu handle this system?

I have a corsair cx-400 psu and I was wondering how this psu would handle these two systems and if there would be any chance of overclocking.

Psu Specs

Here are the two systems.

System 1

AMd X4 955 BE
Gtx 460
4gb ddr3 ram
dvd drive
300gb hard drive (from an old dell)

System 2

Intel 2500-k
Hd 5670
4gb ddr3 ram
dvd drive
300gb hard drive (from an old dell)

Any advice would be great

The PSU will handle both systems without breaking a sweat

Yes, give a idea my system in my sig pulls 500w from the mains with a Nvidia 580 GTX gpu, i7 overclocked to 4ghz and watercooling.
I had prime and Furmark running, your systems will pull considerably less

If that's the case why do companies give such high recommended power supplies?

For people who buy cheap nasty PSU which would fail if even remotely stressed.

You say cheap and nasty yet some companies are expensive and nasty like the gx series.

I would probably trust that rather than Qtech or some other make.
