3 WEEKS AGO I SOLD MY FRIEND MY OLD 6800GT AGP CARD FOR £90 FITTED. HE HAS SENT ME A TEXT MESSAGE THIS MORNING SAYING "BAD NEWS MATE YOUR G/CARD HAS STOPPED WORKING!". HE HASN'T PAID ME FOR THIS CARD YET ALTHOUGH HE KEPT SAYING HE WOULD POP ROUND WITH THE MONEY.

I would tell him to pay up, he knew it was second hand and has been using it for weeks, I love the "your GFX card has stopped working"... you should have said "your GFX card you mean" ;)

Call him.

Blame it on his lack of antisurge or crappy psu, that's what i always do. Or take a known dead card down, swap it in and tell him it's his motherboard that has died not the video card.

GO ROUND A BE A PAL AND FIX THE CARD OR IF IT DOESNT WORK TAKE IT BACK AND SAY "SORRY OLD PAL I APPEAR TO HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SELL YOU A DUFF CARD, MY APOLOGIES, PLEASE ACCEPT THIS CRATE OF BEER FOR YOUR TROUBLES."

Then burn his house down, kill his dog and make love to a female relative of his! (or male if you are that way inclined)

You've lost your money. Your "mate" won't want to pay now for the card he broke. Make sure you get the old card back off him so you can try it out on your own machine otherwise he might be trying to get a freebie.
