How would you upgrade this system

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, 2133 MHz
Asus P5N-E SLI
Radeon X800 XL
2gb of OCZ XTC Platinum

For a budget of around 350-400...how would you upgrade it?

Hell yes, about 3 i would imagine..maybe more. Still plays most things fine...partly because i have a 26" Samsung thats max resolution is 1360x768..so not very demanding.

Perhaps a new screen would be beneficial too.

does everything you seem to want it too so i wouldnt bother.

you dont mention case, psu, keyboard, mouse, disk drives, whether its noisy (cpu fan....) etc, what you use it for and whether to plan to change the usage, might help point you in a direction that would be worth the money rather than pointlessly wasting it

Yet i also think you may have a point. It does do everything i want right now. I have a nice Lian Li case, it's not noisy...hmm. Perhaps i'll leave it for a while, sometimes (not very often) i get urges to upgrade.

If it does everything that you need then there is no point in upgrading but if you were looking to upgrade I'd probably pick something like this.

Your PSU should be fine, it is a good PSU from a good brand. I don't want to encourage you to upgrade just for the sake of it but it seems I just can't help myself.

Just upgrade the gpu and get that 6400 clocked. It's sacriledge to have it running at stock, especially as you have a P5N-E Sli. Good clocking cpu with a good clocking mobo. You might need a decent cooler though.

I love my X800 XL, havent had any problems with it apart from replacing the howling stock cooler on it. Though I think it may start showing its age soon. Once I get a copy of the Bioshock demo (no interweb as I've just moved house) it could be decision time about upgrading for me.

I wouldnt know where to start! Never overclocked any of my hardware. What am i likely to be able to get out of it?

Same here, it's a great card. However, i don't think it's works with Bioshock..or at least it was a bit messed up on the demo and i'm sure i read on here somewhere there were issues.

Well it flatly refused to play the Lost Planet demo I downloaded, so maybe it is time to retire it and the rest of my single core 939 system. I've applied for a new job so if I get it and the healthy pay rise that comes with it, it may just be time to treat myself!
